Within a small subteam, we are responsible for the Corporate Digital Development activities, which ranges from managing the systems for an automated sales-trader workflow for pricing and booking trades, client advisory, client facing systems for communication, FX risk management and FX and Commodity trading, as well as Data Analytics to support sales within opportunity identification.

We believe the future of our business is data-driven, AI-enabled, and client-centric. That is why we are expanding our capabilities, combining Corporate Treasury Sales expertise with advanced analytics to identify client opportunities and create win–win relationships:

  • Clients benefit from tailored and transparent risk-management insights
  • The bank benefits from deeper engagement and data-driven decision making
  • You benefit by developing cutting-edge skills in a real business environment

Join us in Munich and help shape the future of Corporate Treasury Sales.

What you'll be doing

As an intern in our Corporate Digital Development Team, covering the Data & AI initiatives, you will apply analytical, technical, and creative problem-solving skills to strengthen Corporate Treasury Sales. You will work on real datasets, real clients (internally), and real market products, and contribute to the digital transformation of one of the bank’s most client-facing businesses.

Your work will focus on:

1. Data Analytics & Insights Generation

  • Analyze client transaction data, exposures, financial behavior, and hedging patterns
  • Identify client opportunities using statistical models and analytical frameworks
  • Translate insights into actionable recommendations for Corporate Treasury Sales specialists

2. Artificial Intelligence & Advanced Analytics

  • Support the design and implementation of AI models that detect patterns in corporate client risk profiles, as well as deepen analysis of client exposure and hedging portfolios
  • Assist in developing early-warning indicators, propensity-to-hedge models, and personalized product suggestions
  • Collaborate with teams exploring machine learning use-cases across UniCredit, including dynamic pricing models

3. Data & Opportunity Visualization

  • Use business intelligence tools (Power BI, Python dashboards) to create intuitive visualizations
  • Build interactive dashboards highlighting KPIs, market trends and client opportunities
  • Help convert complex data and market dynamics into simple, client-ready pitches

What you'll need to succeed

  • Academic background in a quantitative field such as computer science, data science, mathematics, statistics or a related discipline
  • Proven practical experience with databases (SQL) is necessary and knowledge of at least one programming language is a prerequisite (preferably Python, Typescript, C#)
  • Experience with data visualization – including Business Intelligence software such as PowerBI
  • Hands-on experience in applying Artificial Intelligence techniques (ChatCompletion, Vector Stores, RAG and Agent Frameworks)
  • Interest in working within heterogeneous data and system landscape
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to solve and structure complex tasks
  • General understanding of risk management products offered to Corporate Clients, such as FX Forwards and Options, Commodity Swaps and Interest Rate Derivatives
  • Relation to the financial sector/banking through specialization during studies, internship or training would be beneficial
  • Fluent in English, good knowledge of German and/or Italian

What you'll get in return

  • #UnleashYourPotential – With us, you are guaranteed a steep learning curve. In your multifaceted internship, you can supplement your theoretical knowledge from your studies with practical insights and thus find out where your passion lies.
  • #EnjoyNetworking – From day one, you will be part of a vibrant community and a great team that supports each other. In addition to your day-to-day job, numerous events await you where you can make contacts in all areas and divisions of the bank.
  • #BalanceYourLife – Digitization and flexibility shape our modern working world. Design your working life with flexitime the way it suits you best: Whether in the office or remotely.
  • #MakeInnovationHappen – FinTechs, Big Data, Bitcoins: Banking is evolving rapidly. Actively shape the digital transformation of one of the most change-driven industries by contributing your fresh perspective and innovative ideas.
  • #LiveOurCulture – We don't just accomplish our work, but experience and shape it together. As a real team, we communicate at eye level #CallMeByMyFirstName, value every opinion and are convinced that success is based on people empowerment.
  • #EmpowerCommunitiesToProgress – We are committed to sustainable and social values: Social Impact Banking and Sustainable Finance are part of our DNA. Because for us, creating value means more than just creating financial value.
  • #ComeAsYouAre – We actively promote fairness and inclusion and create equal opportunities for all colleagues. By signing the “Charta der Vielfalt” and the Valuable 500, we clearly commit to diversity and inclusion. Our employee networks foster open exchange, because we firmly believe diversity is a key success factor. The individual strengths and experiences of our colleagues are our most valuable asset – and our competitive advantage.

During your internship, you will receive a monthly compensation of EUR 2,400 gross based on full-time employment, which meets at least the applicable statutory minimum wage. This applies regardless of whether the internship is mandatory or voluntary.
